It was a fun-filled weekend on Saturday 10th September 2016, when we hosted students and teachers from our sister school, Groupe Scolaire Notre Dame de Lourdes - Byimana
The visitors arrived here at school at around 9:00am. They were warmly received by the school administration, members of staff and the prefectorial body.
The visitors were taken on a guided tour around the school before they settled for a series of friendly games that were to take place on that day.
A volleyball game was played first with the hosts winning the first set. The visitors bounced back, winning the second set thus sending the game to a tie-breaker, as they were playing the best of three. We were able to capitalize on the home advantage and ended up winning the third set, thus beating the visitors 2 – 1.
The Basketball game was next on the schedule and we headed to the basketball court. The game started with both teams playing cautiously in the first quarter. Later on, the teams were able to pick up the pace and started attacking each other. At the end, the hosts were able to defeat the visitors.
Handball was the final game of the day. It was fun watching this game, hoping that may be the visitors could finally win. However, the hosts also triumphed on this one by defeating their visitors.
After the games, the hosts and the visitors had lunch and refreshments together. They also got time to converse and have light moments together before the visitors headed back home in the evening.
All in all, it was a good and fun – filled experience hosting them and we liked every moment of it. We look forward to hosting them again, and of course, visiting them as well.
