The School day

It all started with the student leaders who praised the school on behalf of fellow students for the massive benefits they enjoy from the school. They appreciated the “parental care” that they are getting from this school. They acknowledged the fact that the school has always been close to them and offered all the necessary guidance to help them towards a better future.

The students’ words were later to be reaffirmed by their parents. The chairperson of the parents’ committee thanked the school administration for the good job they are doing in providing their children with complete education. He emphasized this by quoting the real picture of a Bernadette student from the eating habits, dressing code, language, morale and commitment that our students exhibit in every activity and wherever they go.

The message from the head of Abenebikira Sisters Community was not any different. The community thanked God the Almighty for all the providence he has had over his creation and man in particular. They thanked the Almighty for having entrusted the Virgin Mary to be the blessed Mother of Jesus through whom human souls are redeemed.

They also thanked Abenebikira Sisters, particularly those involved in the education service here at Groupe Scolaire Sainte Bernadette - Save for the good job of parenting that they are doing. They noted that had it not been for their selfless leadership and service, there wouldn’t be anything to celebrate on such a day.

The message from the head of the community ended with thanksgiving to St. Bernadette, the saint after whom the school is named. Students, parents, well-wishers and everyone present was asked to always remember and feel free to ask for St. Bernadette’s intercession during their prayers.

Groupe Scolaire Sainte Bernadette - Save is the first girls’ school in Rwanda that started in 1938. This year’s school day celebrations were held on 10th October 2015.
