A team of S.6 boys which won the football boys’ competition this year

Mensa sana in corpore sano –a Latin proverb literally meaning that a healthy mind works in a healthy body. Here at St. Bernadette, we believe that health creates wealth and we always give a significant consideration to activities that contribute towards a healthy St. Bernadette community.

The third term is full of sporting action in different areas both indoor and outdoor activities. The inter-promotional sports competitions have just come to a close, with students having competed in various sports activities according to their classes.

The competitions were organised in a knockout tournament system where only the winning team would progress to the next round. The tournament was run in the shortest time possible so as to allow students, especially those in candidate classes, to embark on their academic responsibilities.

Unlike last year’s tournament which was dominated by senior six, this time every promotion (class) was proving to be a serious contender- both in boys and girls, up to the final games. It is through such sports activities that our students learn some of the important values such as teamwork and sharing which are of great importance in their everyday life.

As the old adage says, work without play makes Jack a dull boy . Here at St. Bernadette we say that, work without play makes Jack and Jane dull, and we are never going to let dullness come any near to our boys and girls.
